A peel consists of an acid, or group of acids, that work together to help remove the outermost layers of the Stratum Corneum (layers of dull, dead skin) from our face. Duo is a 64 acid peel with a 3.0 pH that includes Mandelic-Glycolic-Lactic-Salicylic-Citric-Phytic Acids. A peel removes the outermost layers of dull dead skin by dissolving the sticky bond that holds the excess layers. A few days after a peel has been performed, the loosened layers will be able to be removed. This can sometimes be seen by light flaking of the skin, but most times the shedding is not actually visible and is removed as you cleanse daily. By showing visible signs that your face is smoother you can see that the peel is doing its job. Removing the top layers of the epidermis, we find that many things happen.
